At the beginning of 2021, I discovered the drawing software, Procreate, and have relished drawing with it ever since. It's incredible to have just about every type of brush stroke and color imaginable at your finger tips. I have been an artist my whole life and was trained professionally in the fine arts. This new art form has allowed me to translate my artistic skills into the digital realm.

Displayed here are a few of my personal illustration pieces exploring color, landscape, and shape.

This drawing of Anjali, my best friend's daughter, was inspired by a photograph I saw of her (shown below). She looked so happy and content so I wanted to translate that into a drawing through Procreate. I also decided to change the background to something more open and spacial and chose some snow covered mountains instead.
Each artwork is hand drawn through digital software which is recorded and can be turned into a video to show the creation of the piece. Press the play button on the right to see how the drawing was created.

Aquatic life always inspires me - this burst of sketches below started from drawing a koi fish - which translated to a mermaid. Later that week, there were several orca sightings on the Monterey Bay which prompted me to a simple orca sketch and waves.

I wanted to simplify this even more, and thus came up with an orca print which I made on Illustrator.

I could see this type of print being a part of a nautical coastal store, a fun bedspread, patterned shirt, or even gift wrap.
